New FATF recommendations
New recommendations titled International standards on combating money laundering and financing of terrorism & proliferation were issued at the FATF Plenary meeting on 16 February 2012.
The new recommendations merge former 40 Recommendations on money laundering and 9 Special Recommendations on terrorism financing; introduce a recommendation on national risk assessment and also tackle the issue of proliferation.
